¯ CANCELED – A program on NASA’s new Artemis program will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Riverbend Family Dining, 415 Fifth St., Beverly. The Artemis moon mission could be the prelude to manned flights to Mars. A NASA community educator will discuss the program, which is open to all ages, and no registration is required. ¯ The August Shop Swap and Stroll event will be held Wednesday in Lowell. The event is a shopping/dining/social opportunity for the people in our area. It is held on the Fourth Wednesday of each month, during the months of May-September. There is no cost to participate as a vendor, although the Village of Lowell requires a small fee to set up as a food truck/ vendor. Donations are welcome and appreciated. ¯ The Right Path for Washington County and the Ely Chapman Education Foundation will sponsor the 5K Wellness Run and Walk at 8 a.m. Sept. 9 in Marietta. Registration is from 6:30-7:30 a.m. Pre-registration for adults is $20 and $10 for children 12 and under. Race-day registration is $25 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under. Participants pre-registered by Aug. 21 will be guaranteed a free race T-shirt. The registration form is available on the River City Runners Website calendar page, and interested participants can go to RunSignup.com to register. ¯ Family & Children First is sponsoring a fall session of the Strengthening Families 10-14 Program. The program, for parents and youth ages 10-14, is a parent, youth and family skills-building curriculum designed to build family strengths; strengthen parenting skills; and prevent teen substance abuse and other behavior problems. The 7-week session is free, with dinner and child care provided, along with transportation assistance. ¯ The Zonta Club of the MOV is once again sponsoring our Delicates for Dignity Fundraiser. Our annual fundraiser runs through the end of October and aims to support underprivileged girls and women in the community by providing feminine hygiene products, new bras and underwear to them. ¯ The Ohio Department of Development and Washington-Morgan Community Action will launch the Home Energy Assistance Summer Crisis Program to help income-eligible Ohioans with paying an electric bill or assistance paying for an air-conditioning unit, fans or central air conditioning repairs. The program runs until Sep. 30.
¯ Zumba classes will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and 11:30 a.m. Monday at the O’Neill Center. The cost is $5 per class or $25 for six classes. All ages welcome. For more information, call 740-373-3914.
