Miley Cyrus celebrated her 31st birthday with a treat to herself — and some lucky friends and family members.

The “Used to Be Young” singer turned another year older on Thursday, and marked a new chapter by putting on a pre-Thanksgiving performance on Tuesday for her loved ones at Los Angeles’ Chateau Marmont hotel.

And as she explained in an Instagram post, her “birthday gift to MYSELF this year was VERY on brand.”

“I performed for MYSELF and sang my favorite songs including my own,” Cyrus captioned a compilation of clips and images from the night. “First ‘live’ performance of ‘Flowers’ was to an audience full of my friends and family.”

“Taking this song back to the seed… she sprouted sensationally,” she added. “Grateful for the growth in us both. 🌹💋❤️ With Love, Miley.”

For the performance, Cyrus wore an all-black ensemble including a strapless black dress, gloves and a slicked-back bun. Her intimate gig took place in front of a piano for stripped-back renditions of her Grammy-nominated No. 1 smash “Flowers” and a few other crowd pleasers.

At one point during “Flowers,” Cyrus even encouraged the audiece to sing along with her, and made some fun improvised adlibs throughout. “I didn’t want to leave (but I had to), I didn’t want to fight (but we did), started to cry but then remembered I (I’m in Dolce!),” Cyrus sang to much applause.

The musician also performed “Faithfully” by Journey — which also ended in a massive group singalong — and some other seemingly unreleased material. She was joined by pop star Ryan Beatty for the performance, according to an image initially shared to his Instagram Story, which she later reposted.

As previously shared, the performance at Chateau Marmont featured lyrics apparently directed at her boyfriend Maxx Morando, 25, who was reportedly in attendance.

“Don’t know if it’s ever gonna stop / I wouldn’t mind if it don’t / Don’t leave me high / Don’t let me down / ‘Cause I want you more,” she sang at one point, looking straight at the front row near Morando while saying “Don’t let me down,” prompting some laughter in the crowd.

In the comment section of her birthday post, Miley saw plenty of love from fans and friends alike — with Donatella Versace, Vanessa Hudgens and more sharing well wishes.

Outside of her latest gig, Cyrus recently teamed up with her godmother Dolly Parton for a new version of her 2013 hit “Wrecking Ball” that is featured on the country icon’s new album Rockstar.

“I’ve grown up covering my Aunt Dollys music & it’s an honor to hear her singing one of my songs,” she wrote on Instagram. “I love you Aunt Dolly! I’m so happy to add another collaboration under our bedazzled (studded leather) belt! We’re ROCKSTARS now!”

She also notched six Grammy nominations earlier this month, including album of the year, for Endless Summer Vacation.

On Instagram, she celebrated her nominations in a post that congratulated her fellow nominees.

“Watching women rule the music industry makes me proud. It’s fun to be nominated & exciting to win but having my music LOVED around the world is the real trophy,” she wrote. “To my Smilers – I celebrate YOU today. Your joy is my bliss. My team + all of my collaborators are irreplaceable & priceless pieces of this puzzle. I love you all. Thank you for making my Endless Summer Vacation so sweet.”

In April, Cyrus’ hit “Flowers” was named the most-consumed song of 2023, and the chart-topper pulled in more than 1 billion streams.
