Hocus Pocus will be heading back to the big screen to celebrate three decades.

The story of how Hocus Pocus went from a box office flop to a cult classic is one of my favorites.  You see Hocus Pocus was originally released in theaters in July of 1993, that also happens to be when Jurassic Park hit theaters.  Obviously, a Halloween move in July going against Jurassic Park the odds were not in Hocus Pocus’ favor.

However after the flop at the box office, the movie became a TV staple around Halloween time, the rest is history.  I grew up in the 90s, and I remember watching Hocus Pocus every Halloween season, to this day it’s one of my favorite movies. Hocus Pocus officially turns 30 in 2023, so to celebrate three decades of our favorite trio of witches, Hocus Pocus is heading back to the big screen!

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Hocus Pocus, the movie will be heading to theaters in October, and Showplace Cinemas took to Facebook to announce that they will have showings of Hocus Pocus on the big screen for a limited time starting on October 6th.

In a post to Facebook Showplace Cinemas made the exciting announcement:

For 30 years the Sanderson Sisters have been putting a spell on you, see them back on the big screen for a limited time as we celebrate Hocus Pocus’ 30th Anniversary! The black flame candle ignites once again on October 6th.

When looking through the comments I noticed many were curious if this was all locations, and according to a comment from Mark Steiler, President of Showplace Cinemas, this is at the Showplace Cinemas east side location only.

While I’ve got you here, if you’re a fan of Hocus Pocus, be sure to check out Nashville Horror Con, as they’ll be hosting a mini-cast reunion, including Danny, Max, Binx, and Allison! You can find all of that information, here.
