D.C. police are looking for a 25-year-old woman missing since last week.
Chyna Crawford was last seen Oct. 23 in the 1600 block of Good Hope Road SE, where some of her friends live. Missing person posters have been posted throughout the neighborhood.
Her mother, Elisa Crawford, says each day has been difficult.
“The more time goes by, the worse I’m in fear that we probably won’t find her alive, and that’s my worst fear,” she said.
She said she started to get concerned when she and her daughter’s friend couldn’t get in touch with her with multiple phone calls
“Hopelessness, fear, you name it,” her mother said. “I’m just praying that my baby is being held against her will and that she’s okay, you know, and she’ll be returned to me safe and sound.”
D.C. police deemed her case as missing person critical.
“During the investigation, there was information that we received that led us to believe that there may be some suspicious circumstances surrounding her disappearance,” said Carlos Heraud, assistant chief of the Investigative Services Bureau.
Crawford if 5-feet-7-inches tall with long, black hair and a tattoo of a heart on the right side of her chest. She drives a 2012 Mercedes-Benz with Virginia temporary license plate 998859V.
The Black and Missing Foundation is assisting the family with their search.
Crawford’s mother said she’s leaning on faith.
“Baby, you know I love you,” she said. “I’m never going to give up looking for you. If you can, try to send me any messages, anything. We’re out here looking for you every day.”
Anyone with information of her whereabouts should call D.C. police.
