A 34-year-old woman was shot and killed in a parking garage at the Westfield Galleria in Roseville on Saturday by a man she was dating according to police. Roseville police said the woman and the suspect arrived at the mall together Saturday morning. They said the gunman, 29-year-old Simranjit Singh, shot the woman on the third floor of the parking garage and ran away from the scene. He left the gun in the garage.Lt. Chris Ciampa said Roseville police interviewed eyewitnesses and checked the Galleria’s surveillance video.”There are cameras in the garage,” he said. “They have an extensive security system and we are working with them.”The Roseville Police Department said Singh has been arrested and will be booked in Placer County Jail for HomicideThe weapon used in the shooting has been found, police said. Ciampa said police captured the gunman near the Best Buy across the street on Galleria Road. Right after the shooting, the suspect went shopping at Old Navy, according to a witness inside the store. The witness said a man bought a shirt with cash, changed into it, put the old shirt in a shopping bag and asked to leave the store. It was in lockdown due to the active shooter situation. Officers quickly found the suspect outside the Best Buy.”Through eyewitness accounts and descriptions and his last known direction of travel, it was just a lot of officers in the area looking for him,” Ciampa said. The witness said they didn’t know the shopper was the accused shooter until after officers detained him. Police said there is no longer a threat to safety at the mall.”This was not a random act, so people can still feel safe coming to Roseville,” Ciampa said.
